Minot Daily News

Frances Marjorie "Fran" Hennessy, 90, of Lake Metigoshe and Mesa, Ariz., passed away Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at her home in Mesa, with her family by her side.

Frances was born at Devils Lake on July 28, 1922. Parents Irwin and Florence Christenson, brother Robert, and sister Marion preceded Frances in death.

At age 5, Fran's family moved to Minot. She was a Minot High School and Mankato (Minn.) State University graduate. Fran married Robert E. "Bob" Hennessy on June 5, 1950, in Minot. She was a loving wife and mother of four sons. She loved baking apple pies, attending her boys' band concerts, and especially the family time spent at Lake Metigoshe. She was a kind and generous person who always had something to give to people less fortunate. It was a lesson she instilled in her sons and demonstrated every day.

Over the years, Fran worked for Truax-Traer Coal Co., and the Minot American Legion, and retired in 1985 after working 21 years at Medical Arts Pharmacy in Minot. After retiring, they moved to their Lake Metigoshe home, spending winters in Mesa.

Fran and Bob were both proud members of the Minot American Legion, where Fran was a member of the Minot American Legion Auxiliary. Bob passed away in 1991.

Fran loved travel, music, dancing, flower gardens and beautiful Metigoshe sunsets.

She married Dale Mussack in 1998. Fran and Dale continued spending their summers at Lake Metigoshe, where Fran celebrated her 55th season and 90th birthday this past summer. Fran's happiest moments were spent enjoying her family and friends.

Fran is survived by: her husband, Dale, who resides at Emeritus Memory Care in Mesa; sons, Bruce (Heidi) Hennessy, Puerto Penasco, Mexico; Brian (Nancy) Hennessy, Mesa; Craig Hennessy, McKinney, Texas; David (Terri) Hennessy, Plano, Texas; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Memorial service celebrating Fran's life: Will be held Saturday Jan. 12, 2013, at 10 a.m., in the Chapel of Good Shepherd Villas, 5848 E. University, Mesa. Following cremation, Fran will be interred with Bob at the National Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix, Ariz.
