Minot has little snow compared to two winters ago around this time of the year. This photo was taken Wednesday at the bridge at Eighth Street Northwest.

"Moisture since Jan.1 through Dec. 31 (2012) was 15.62 inches and this is a little below the long-term average of 16.95 inches and much below last year's 24.23 inches for the same period," Tarasenko said.

Tarasenko records every day at 8 a.m. the high and low temperatures and combines them at the end of the month for a monthly average.

He said the December monthly average temperature at the extension center was 11.0 degrees which was 2.4 degrees below the 106-year long-term average of 13.4 degrees.
