Minot's had more than 19 inches of snow since the snowfall season began in October.
The total snowfall from Oct. 1 through Dec. 31 has been 19.8 inches, said Jim Tarasenko, research specialist at the North Central Research and Extension Center just south of Minot.
For 2013 so far, he recorded at 8 a.m. Thursday, another 1/10 inch of snow in the past 24-hour period. The moisture in the snow was 0.01 inch.

"Moisture since Jan.1 through Dec. 31 (2012) was 15.62 inches and this is a little below the long-term average of 16.95 inches and much below last year's 24.23 inches for the same period," Tarasenko said.
Tarasenko records every day at 8 a.m. the high and low temperatures and combines them at the end of the month for a monthly average.
He said the December monthly average temperature at the extension center was 11.0 degrees which was 2.4 degrees below the 106-year long-term average of 13.4 degrees.

"Our coldest day for the month was on December 31, at -17 degrees," he said.
Snowfall for the month of December was 8.7 inches and this compares with the long-term average of 6.9 inches and last year's 5.4 inches. And 28 inches two years ago for the same period.
Moisture for the month of December was 0.66 of an inch. This was above the 106-year long-term average of 0.57, Tarasenko said.
