Mary Bachmeier, 81, Minot, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, in a Minot hospital.
Mary Bachmeier was born Feb. 28, 1931, a daughter of Bernhardt and Lena (Linghor) Bachmeier in Blumenfeld. She was raised and educated in the Blumenfeld/Orrin area. As a young lady, she moved with her family to Devils Lake, where she worked in the hatchery for a time.
Mary was united in marriage to Anton "Tony" Bachmeier on Aug. 23, 1952, at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Minot. They made their home in Minot, where Mary was a homemaker, raising the couple's three children, Deborah, Rebecca and Mark. She later worked at the Moose Lodge as the head cook for 10 years. Anton died Sept. 15, 2006. She continued to live in Minot.
Mary enjoyed quilting, working with plastic canvas, canning, fishing and taking the occasional trip to the casino.
Mary is survived by: son, Mark (Rinda) Bachmeier, Norwich; daughter, Rebecca Movchan, Minot; two grandchildren, Dustin Movchan and Chris Reuer; brother, Philip (Opal) Bachmeier, Logan; aunts, Mary West and Lena Burgard, both of Minot; special cousins, Casper Bertsch, Duane Bertsch, Patsy (Don) Merck; granddog, Lucky; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mary was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Anton; daughter, Debby; grandson, Shannon; sister, Beatrice Young,; and an aunt, Caroline Bertsch.
Mass of Christian Burial: Thursday, Jan. 3, 10:30 a.m., at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot.
Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Vigil Prayer Service: Wednesday, Jan. 2, at 7 p.m., in the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.
Visitation: Wednesday, from 2 to 7 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
