Andrew J. "Andy" Foster, 29, of Rapid City, S.D., was born Dec. 6, 1983, and passed away peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, with family and friends close by.
John was kind, a joker, fun-loving and generous. John went to Lincoln Elementary, SW Middle, and graduated from Stevens High School, where he was a speaker during graduation ceremonies in 2002. John graduated from Northern State University with a bachelor of arts in English and history in 2008. He was homecoming king at Northern State University, served as a residence hall director where he counseled, tutored and befriended many.
He worked for many years at Arrowhead Country Club. He had the ability to bring people together to laugh and brighten their day. He loved rugby and Frisbee golf with Dexter, his beloved companion. He loved Mountain Dew, pizza, drama and the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League.
He is survived by beloved Dexter, his dog and Frisbee golf companion; his parents, G. Ralph and Delores Foster, of Rapid City; brother, Morley Foster, of Watertown, S.D.; his grandmother, Magdalena Duchsherer, of Drake; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, Jan. 3, at 10 a.m. at Kirk Funeral Home, Rapid City.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
