Maurice Claude Morrison Sr., 99, Minot, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, in a Minot hospital.
Maurice was born Feb. 18, 1913, in Westport, S.D., the son of Earl and Martha (Kluck) Morrison. He farmed south of Westport from 1932 to 1939. He ran the elevator in Westport from 1939 to 1947 and then worked for McCarthy Brothers Grain Firm in Aberdeen, S.D. In 1952, he was transferred to Bismarck and in 1961 he was transferred to Minneapolis to work on the Grain Commission Trading Floor. In 1963, he moved to Minot and operated an office for Benson and Quinn Grain Firm until he retired.
Maurice was a member of Vincent United Methodist Church, in Minot, and president of the N.D. Square Dance Club from 1956 to 1958.
He was married to Lorraine Margaret Ludwig, from Barnard, S.D., for 60 years.
Surviving are: his two daughters, Janice (Vern) Weiss, of Milaca, Minn., and Judy Traxinger, of Minot; three sons, Maurice Morrison Jr., of Helena, Mont., Harry (Linda) Morrison, of Georgetown, Texas, and Lynn Morrison, of Minot, along with 18 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
Maurice was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine, and two sons, Eugene and Leslie.
Maurice requested a private family service.
