Although Betty Smith was in the home at the time of the crash, no serious injuries were reported to her or the driver of the pickup. As of Saturday evening, the cause of the accident was not available. The home struck by a pickup truck Saturday afternoon was jarred from its foundation. The blow had enough force to push a deck away from the opposite side of the home. The striking vehicle can be seen at the center of the photograph. The accident broke the natural gas line serving the residence, which firefighters said could have caused an explosion. The gas line was shut off but a strong smell of gas remained in the area for a period of time after the accident. The driver of the pickup, J.A.J. Lundrigan, was cited for care required. The pickup had Ontario license plates and was registered to Advanced Tower Services, Ltd.
