Neil and Rita Newport, of rural Minot, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at an open house Tuesday, Dec. 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Minot Knights of Columbus Club. Their children, Brenda Newport, Cheryl Richter and Shane Newport, and their families, all of Minot, will host the event.
Rita Oldham and Neil Newport were married Dec. 4, 1962, in Minot. He was a carpet layer and she worked at several hobby stores in Minot. The couple has seven grandchildren.
