The North Dakota State University football team earned the top seed and a first-round bye in the 2012 Division I FCS playoffs that start this weekend.
The Bison, who won the FCS national championship last season, will host the winner of Eastern Illinois and South Dakota State at 3 p.m. on Dec. 1. Top-ranked NDSU won the Missouri Valley Football Conference and received the league's automatic bid to the playoffs.
