The Minot State University men's club hockey team was eager to get back onto the ice after nearly three weeks since its last game.
The fifth-ranked Beavers (10-3 overall) scored just 20 seconds into the first period and MSU never looked back, routing North Dakota State University 8-0 on Friday at Maysa Arena.
MSU forwards Mike Jordan, Brody Haygarth and Garrett Ferguson each netted two goals as the Beavers recorded 64 shots.
"We came out and established our style of play," MSU coach Wade Regier said in a press release. "We came to play tonight and I am proud of the way we worked hard."
Junior goaltender Wyatt Waselenchuk stopped all 31 shots he faced to earn the shutout for the Beavers.
MSU plays NDSU again today at 5 p.m. at Maysa Arena.
