Minot Daily News

JAMESTOWN (AP) - Investigators believe a fire that heavily damaged a house in Jamestown was deliberately set.

The house was unoccupied when the fire was reported shortly before 7 a.m. Friday. Police Detective Sgt. Tom Nagel tells The Jamestown Sun that authorities believe the fire had been burning for a couple of hours. Damage was estimated at about $140,000.

Nagel says evidence points to arson. He says there is a suspect.

One firefighter suffered a knee injury fighting the fire and another aggravated a previous injury. A police officer who responded slipped on the ice.
