Minot High football teamreceives honors

Minot High School football coach Barry Holmen was named Class AAA coach of the year and seven players were named to the All-West Region Team.

Junior quarterback Alex Yanosko, junior running back Brady Lampert, junior tight end junior Jacob Holmen and senior lineman Tanner Gust received offensive honors.

Gust also received honors on defense, along with senior lineman Aaron Livingston and senior linebacker Zach Danelson. Junior Ben Love was one of two players honored as a kicker.

Junior wide receiver Kimani Benjamin and junior cornerback Josh Pizzo received honorable mentions.

The Magicians finished the 2012 season 7-3 overall and 4-2 in region play, losing to West Fargo in the first round of the playoffs.
