Lauren Kandt, 23, of Fargo, formerly of Kief, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, in a Fargo hospital.
Lauren Kandt, daughter of Tom and Yvonne (Verbitsky) Kandt, was born May 10, 1989, at Minot. She grew up on the family farm south of Kief, attended kindergarten through fifth grade at the Butte Public School before transferring to Anamoose Public School, where she graduated in 2007. She then enrolled at Minot State University, where she graduated with a degree in marketing and management this year. She moved to Fargo in January of this year and was recently employed with Applebee's Restaurant in West Fargo.
Lauren was very creative. She enjoyed writing poetry, pencil sketching, and especially photography. She also loved the outdoors and looked forward to deer hunting with her family each fall. She was a free spirited dreamer, who loved to experience life to the fullest. Lauren enjoyed the simple things in life and loved her family, friends, and her cats, Lilly, Rufio, and Boots dearly.
She is survived by: her parents, Tom and Yvonne Kandt, of rural Kief; her brother, Josh Kandt, of Fargo; special friend and love of her life, Drew Higgens, of Fargo; paternal grandmother, Freda Haykel, Minot; and a number of uncles, aunts, cousins, and cherished friends.
Memorials: Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers as the family will be designating to various organizations.
Funeral: Saturday, Nov. 10, at 11 a.m. at Vincent United Methodist Church in Minot
Burial: Saturday at the Butte Cemetery in Butte at 3 p.m.
Visitation: Will be held Friday, from 3 to 5 p.m., at the United Methodist Church in Drake.
