Dale Lalim, 75, of Tioga, died Monday morning, Oct. 22, 2012, at Trinity Hospital in Minot. His funeral service will be held today, Oct. 25, 2012, at 11 a.m., in Zion Lutheran Church, Tioga. Dale Ellsworth Lalim was born March 26, 1937, in Powers Lake, to Iver and Mildred (Olson) Lalim. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Zion Lutheran Church in Tioga. He attended Tioga schools and graduated in 1955. He attended Minot State College for one year and graduated from UND in 1959 with a bachelor of science degree in geology.

On June 9, 1957, Dale was united in marriage to Roberta "Bobbi" Fjelstad in Alexander. To this marriage four children were born, Pamela, Rikki, Randall and Stephanie. After graduating from UND, the couple lived in Williston, where Dale worked at Home of Economy.

They moved back to Tioga, where Dale was employed by Dallea Petroleum Corporation from 1961 to June 1963. In 1963 he was involved in establishing Roustabout Service Company and was general manager until 1973, at which time he purchased the company which became Roustabout Service and Insulating Company, where he continued to work until his retirement. He was also a partner of Tioga Air Heaters during the 1970s.

Dale was a former president of the Tioga Country Club, the Tioga Hospital Board and the Tioga Chamber of Commerce and was on the Tioga City Commission. He was also a member of the Elks organization.

Dale was extremely interested and active in sports throughout high school and college. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren as they were active in many sports also. His favorite teams were the Vikings, Twins and UND Fighting Sioux. Dale and Bobbi enjoyed traveling together, with Hawaii being their favorite winter retreat. He loved his ranch in the White Earth Valley, as well as hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of over 54 years, Bobbi; grandson, Brody McGregor; and brother, Duane Lalim.

Dale is survived by: his daughters, Pamela (Scott) McGregor, of St. Cloud, Minn., and Stephanie Lalim, of Columbus, Mont.; sons, Rikki Lalim, of Minneapolis, Minn., and Randy (Joy) Lalim, of Tioga; five grandchildren, Destiny (Grant) Gilleland, Cole McGregor, Erin Lalim, Jace (Kayla) Lalim and Tyler (Meghan) Lalim; three great-grandchildren, Weston Lalim, Marli Lou Lalim and Rylan Gilleland; and nephew, Duane Lalim Jr.

Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. until service time on Thursday.
