MOHALL - Juliane Whitecalfe, 51, Garrison, formerly of Mohall, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at a Bismarck hospital.
Julie was born April 12, 1961, in Mohall, a daughter of Harvey and Marjorie (Johnson) Sundahl. She was raised in Mohall and graduated from Mohall High School in 1979. She attended Minot State University and North Dakota State University in Fargo. She worked for Curt Bahl at the Mohall Grain Elevator and later at the Tolley Elevator.
Julie and Frank Whitecalfe were married Feb. 14, 1990, at Zion Lutheran Church in Mohall. They moved in the early 1990s to their ranch 21 miles southwest of Garrison. Julie worked for 12 years at the Garrison Veterinary Clinic. She later owned and operated Rez Rock N Water, a company serving the oil industry.
Julie enjoyed her horses, Dolly, Doc and Clifford; barrel racing was her passion and she also loved to rope. She looked forward to traveling to weekend barrel racing jackpots to visit her rodeo family. She won numerous awards through the North Dakota Rodeo Association and the Rough Rider Rodeo Association. Julie loved her animals, especially her cow dog, Hank Whitecalfe. Julie will be forever remembered for her loving nature and comforting words.
Family: husband, Frank Whitecalfe, Garrison; daughters, Jessica and Jackie Whitecalfe, both Garrison; stepsons, Justin (Sarah) Whitecalfe, Garrison, Garrett (Jamie) Whitecalfe, Parshall, Tyler Whitecalfe, Garrison; stepgrandchildren, Ellie and Cameron Whitecalfe; parents, Harvey and Marjorie Sundahl, Mohall; siblings, Gayle Sundahl, Portland, Ore., Steve Sundahl, Mohall, Nancy Smart, Yakima, Wash., Susan (Curt Bahl) Sundahl, Mohall, Keven (Angela) Sundahl, Mohall, and Lisa (David) O'Keeffe, Mohall; brother-in-law, Donny Aasen, Minot; mother-in-law, Phyllis Kylo, Sioux Falls, S.D.; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Julie was preceded in death by her sister, Lori Aasen; and nephew, Marshall Sundahl.
Memorial Service: Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at 2 p.m., at Zion Lutheran Church, Mohall.
Burial: McKinney Cemetery, rural Tolley. Juliane's family would like to invite you to join her on her last ride from Mouse River Park to McKinney Cemetery. Everyone is welcome to bring their saddle horse.
There will be no reviewal but friends may sign the guestbook Wednesday, two hours prior to the service, at the church.
