Mary M. (Kastner) Fischer, 92, Garrison, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at Garrison Memorial Hospital.
Mary was born Dec. 7, 1919, in Garrison, to Anton and Anna (Ubl) Kastner. She attended Garrison schools and married Walter Fischer at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Garrison, on Oct. 15, 1940. Together, they farmed and raised dairy cattle eight miles west of Garrison.
She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church. For years she was passionate about gardening, raising farm animals, cooking, and quilting.
Mary is survived by: her husband, Walter; four sons, Wallace (Shirley), Spokane, Wash., Wade (Joanne), Garrison, Michael (Marilyn), Crooks, S.D., and Gerald, Garrison; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers and three sisters.
Services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 23, 10:30 a.m., at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Garrison, with the Rev. John Joseph Kandathiparambil officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Rosary recitation: Today, Monday, at 7 p.m., in the church.
Visitation will be today, Monday, from 2 to 6 p.m., at Thompson Funeral Home, Garrison.
