MOHALL - Gayle Ann Lawson, 47, Mohall, with her kind, loving and gentle heart, entered heaven on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012.

Gayle was born Dec. 10, 1964, in Minot, a daughter of Lyle and Avis (Martin) Person. She was proud to have been raised in Ruthville, where she spent many hours playing in "the circle," with siblings and friends, often talking about the long school bus ride to Glenburn. She graduated from Glenburn High School in 1983, where she was involved in various extracurricular activities, including music and sports. She was an excellent basketball player. Gayle attended Minot State University while working part time at Hardee's on North Hill.

Gayle married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Jeff, on Aug. 3, 1985. Their journey together as husband and wife began in Minot, where Landon, their first of three beloved sons, was born. Soon after, the family moved to Glenburn, where they were blessed with their second son, Brady. During this time Gayle student taught and coached volleyball at her alma mater. The family then moved to Mohall where they were blessed with another son, Carson. From then on, Gayle stayed at home "from son up to son down," to raise her children, while also providing daycare for the children of other families. When her boys started school, she began work at MTI; she most recently worked at The Club in Mohall.

However, we all know Gayle's true calling was shopping, event planning and doting on/spoiling the young "Persons" in her family. Gayle also loved to read. She could be found with a book (or several) in progress at any given time. Gayle was an incredibly devoted daughter, spending countless hours tending to her parents' happiness and care during their time at the Good Samaritan in Mohall. Gayle was a compassionate, selfless and loyal soul. She loved supporting her children and husband in all their many endeavors. She also found joy in every family event. She will be forever missed as a beloved wife, mother, sister and friend.

Left to cherish her memory is her family, including: husband, Jeff Lawson, Mohall; sons, Landon (Hollie) Lawson, Appleton, Brady Lawson, Minot, and Carson Lawson, Mohall; brother, Brian (Cindy) Person, Palo Cedro, Calif.; sisters, Peggy Person, Berthold, Nancy (John) Kleinsasser, Chester, Mont., Kelly (Guy) Grigsby, Minot, and Carol Blahut, Berthold; father- and mother-in-law, David and Gayle Lawson, Minot; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Kari (Brad) Brandt, Glenburn, Rob (Jody) Lawson, Sawyer, and Nancy (Cale) Rolland, Glenburn; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

Gayle was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Memorial Service: Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at 11 a.m., at Zion Lutheran Church, Mohall.

Visitation: There will be no reviewal, but friends may sign the guestbook two hours prior to the service at the church.

Gayle loved shopping for all kinds of shoes. Those attending the service are encouraged to bring a usable pair of shoes that will be donated, in Gayle's memory, to charity.
