Sara Fundingsland, a 2011 Minot High School graduate and current student at North Dakota State Univer-sity, Fargo, completed basic military training in the U.S. Air Force Oct. 5 at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas.
She was in the top 10 percent of her class, earning her the distinguished honor graduate ribbon. She was in the top 77 graduates out of a class of more than 700 basic training graduates.
She continues at Lackland AFB for 13 weeks of technical school training in security forces and will then report to Minot AFB in January to begin another three months of on-the-job training. She will return to NDSU as a sophmore in the fall of 2013 and become a member of the North Dakota Air National Guard.
She is the daughter of Anne Thordal and Kim Fundingsland, both of Minot.
