Gordon Tofte, 71, Bismarck, died Oct. 15, 2012, at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck. A memorial service will be held Friday, Oct. 19, 11 a.m., at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck. Burial will be Friday, 1 p.m., at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, south of Mandan.
There will be no visitation; cremation has taken place.
Gordon was born Oct. 6, 1941, in Williston, the son of Hjalmer and Mildred (Amundson) Tofte. He was raised and educated in Williston and graduated from Williston High School in 1959. Gordon lived in Minot, where he worked in the printing business.
He married Judy Skari on Sept. 17, 1977, at First Lutheran Church in Minot. They lived in Minot until moving to Bismarck in 1981, where he worked for Quality Printing, Dakota Printing, and The Printers.
Gordon was a member of the Amvets, Eagles, and Elks.
He is survived by: his loving wife of 35 years, Judy; brother, Tom (Lana) Tofte; aunt, Julia Barstad, of Ross; niece, Wendy Tofte, and her children, Wyatt and Emma, Minot; niece, Deb Knause and family, of Wisconsin; nephew, J.D. (Robie) Skari and family, Arlington, Texas; nephew, Lindel Franks and family, of Texas; and niece, Glynda (Mike) Morrell and family, of Texas; brother-in-law, David (Arlyss) Skari, Las Cruces, N.M.; and his faithful dog, Dodger.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father; his mother-in-law and father-in-law; his niece and goddaughter, Kirstin Skari; and several aunts and uncles.
