FARGO In their final high school boys soccer match together at Minot High School, brothers P.K. and Ekow Annan finished big.
The Annan brothers each scored three goals in a 6-0 win over Bismarck in the fifth-place match at the state tournament on Saturday at Sid Cichy Stadium.
Ekow, a sophomore, scored the first two goals of the match to help the Magicians (14-5-2) take a 2-0 lead at halftime. His second goal came with 14 seconds left in the first half.
"It was my last game with my brother," Ekow Annan said. "Our midfielders did a great job of getting us the ball."
It was the second consecutive hat trick for senior forward P.K. Annan, who is undecided on where he will play in college.
"It was a special moment for me," P.K. Annan said. "I am so happy it ended this way. Playing with my brother and playing with the team. It was a great year."
P.K. opened the second half with a goal in the 48th minute and added a penalty kick in the 55th minute.
Junior midfielder Ryan Crabtree had two assists in the match for Minot. Junior goalkeeper Garrett Weishaar posted five saves in net.
"Even though it is a consolation championship it feels like a championship to me," MHS coach Cody Saunders said. "Bismarck is one of our rivals and to come out here and beat them in every facet of the game just feels incredible. I'm proud of the team."
Todd Kessler finished with nine saves for the Demons (10-6-2).
