How does selling hotdogs, brats and pop go together with dancing at Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City?
Two Minot dancers, Emily White and Madesyn Porterfield, were selling hotdogs, brats and pop on Saturday at MarketPlace Foods at 1930 S. Broadway to help pay for their trip to New York City.
White and Porterfield, sophomores at Minot High School-Central Campus, were chosen to dance in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Both are members of the MHS Varsity Dance Team. White also dances competitively for The Dance Co. of Minot and Porterfield for Brick Studio in Minot.
The girls auditioned for the Macy's parade this past spring and were the only two chosen from North Dakota. Eleven girls were chosen nationwide.
They will spend a week in New York City and have the opportunity to learn choreography from Greg Lagola of the nine-time DCI World Champions The Cadets as well as attend leadership workshops with famed speaker Fran Kick.
In the parade, the Minot girls will accompany the Macy's Great American Marching Band.
The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is internationally recognized as the official start of the holiday season and is world-famous as an American entertainment extravaganza.
White and Porterfield, who have spent many hours dedicating themselves to their passion for dance, said they are excited for this once-in-a-lifetime experience and the opportunity to represent Minot and North Dakota.
