Our mother, Helen Fischer, of Billings, Mont., passed away Oct. 2, 2012, in Billings.
She was born Sept. 28, 1919, in Foxholm, to Veronica and Jay DeGree. Mom was the oldest of six children.
Mom lost her parents and two brothers, Ed and Marvin. Later, a son, Jim, passed away.
She is survived by: four children, Allen (Ruth) Fischer, Ken (Susan) Fischer, Wayne (Mary) Fischer, and Judy (Les) Jensen; 15 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren also survive mother. She also has a sister, Carol (Arnold) Weber; and brother, Don (Evelyn) DeGree, both in Minot; and Allen DeGree, another brother, lives in Billings, Mont.
The casket will be open at Michelotti-Sawyers today, Oct. 5, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. MDT, and prior to both services at the church. A rosary vigil will be held at 7 p.m, today, at St. Bernard's Church Parish in Billings. Her funeral mass is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 6, at 10 a.m., in St. Bernard's Church, with Rite of Committal at Holy Cross Cemetery, Billings.
Memorials: Mom has requested memorials be given to St. Bernard's Church, St. Vincent DePaul Church in Billings, or a charity of the donor's choice.
As a family we thank her many friends and professionals for the care and concern that was provided for her.
Mom, you leave a hole in our heart but we are thankful for the happy dance that you are doing now! We will love you forever!
