Ramona ‘Mona’ Llewellyn

Ramona "Mona" Llewellyn, 56, Minot, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, surrounded by her family in a Minot hospital, after a brief illness.

Ramona Jean Larson was born July 16, 1956, a daughter of Ramon and Janice (Downie) Larson, in Minot. She was raised and educated in Minot, where she graduated from Minot High School in 1975.

On June 28, 1975, Mona was united in marriage to Ralph E. Llewellyn in Minot. They made their home in Minot, where she started working at the Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch. She was dedicated to her work and after 37 years she still enjoyed going to work every day.

She loved being a wife, mother and grandmother. She was blessed with 14 grandchildren who she absolutely adored. She enjoyed spending time with her whole family. Some of Mona's favorite activities with family and friends were playing cards, throwing darts and watching her grandchildren enjoy their favorite activities.

Mona is survived by: her husband of 37 years, Ralph E. Llewellyn, Minot; daughters, Melinda (Ward) Kostek, San Antonio, Texas, Sarah (Kevin) Streitz, Minot, Heidi Llewellyn, Minot; sons, Ralph (Tami) Llewellyn, Fargo, Tim (Katie Watterud) Llewellyn, Minot; 12 grandchildren, Elizabeth (Nate) Gray, Amber Kostek, Andrew Kostek, Brittany Llewellyn, Macey Llewellyn, Paige Knain Blanchard, Shawn Llewellyn, Kayla Streitz, Ryan Kostek, Kristian Streitz, Rhianne Kostek, Lanie Llewellyn; four sisters, Myrna Huffman, Diane Harmon, Laurie Larson and Connie Larson, all of Minot; father, Ramon Larson, Minot; and several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mona was preceded in death by her mother; and grandsons, Jason and Joel Kostek.

Funeral service: Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at the West Minot Church of God, located at 1105-16th St NW, Minot, ND, 58701.

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.

Visitation: Today, Oct. 5, from 1 to 7 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
