A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at 11 a.m. in Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church, Minot. Burial will be at Beauty Valley Cemetery, rural Tioga. Memorials may be directed to the North Dakota Teen Challenge, Mandan, Our Redeemer's Building Fund, Minot, or the memorial of the donor's choice.

At Ordean's request, there will be no visitation. It was his wish that he be remembered as a godly man who loved his family, was kind to his neighbors, and was always honest and fair in his dealings with his customers.

Ordean was born March 4, 1940, in Powers Lake, the son of Ole and Haldis (Vinje) Fossaa. Ordean attended the Lutheran Brethren Bible School in Fergus Falls for two years and the North Dakota State School of Science in Wapheton for two years.

Following his education, he took over the family farm northeast of Tioga. In 1972, he built and established the Fossaa Certified Seed Cleaning Plant.

On Oct. 27, 1973, Ordean married Nancy Folden of San Jose, Calif. Over the years, Ordean was on numerous township, county and state boards and committees with the goal of improving the quality of seed durum and the standard by which it is grown, processed and sold. He received many awards and recognition for his work in agriculture.

He is survived by: his wife, Nancy, Tioga; son, Marc, Fargo; sister Jewel (Gerald) Dahl, Felton, Minn.; and many nieces and nephews.
