VALLEY CITY (AP) - A North Dakota woman is facing murder and two child abuse charges after her 22-month-old son died last month.

The Grand Forks Herald reports that a murder charge against Jodi Renae Lindvall was filed in Ransom County District Court on Tuesday.

Lindvall was arrested Monday. Lindvall's son, Bentley Lindvall, died Sept. 22. It is unclear how the child died.

Court documents charging Lindvall says she caused the boy's death.

Lindvall faces up to life in prison for the murder charge. The abuse charges each carry a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

Lindvall is being held at the Barnes County Jail in Valley City. Court documents do not list an attorney for Lindvall.
