Nancy L. Duffey, 75, Heimdal, passed away Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at St. Aloisius Hospital in Harvey.

Nancy Robinson, daughter of Fred and Phoebe (Gerhart) Robinson, was born Oct. 24, 1936, at Cando. Her first years were spent on a farm near Maza where she received her early education. The Robinson family then moved to the Churchs Ferry area where Nancy completed her education, graduating as class salutatorian in 1954.

She married Lewis Duffey on Sept. 1, 1961, in Churchs Ferry. They lived in Churchs Ferry for several years and later in Tokio and Russell before moving to Heimdal in 1971 where they have resided since.

Nancy worked as a postmaster relief employee at the Heimdal Post Office from 1981 until its closure in 1990. She also worked as a bookkeeper for the community of Heimdal water and sewer department and for Ongstad farms for a number of years.

Nancy served as a 4-H leader for many years and was a member of the Frank Proisl American Legion Post #33 Auxiliary of Fessenden. She was also a member of Hoff Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school and was active with the ladies aid.

Nancy was a God-loving devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to us all. She will be forever loved and will always be in our hearts.

She is survived by: her husband of 51 years, Lewis; two daughters, Karen Duffey (Felipe Ayala) of Phoenix, Ariz., and Kristi Duffey, of Issaquah, Wash.; four grandchildren, Ulysses, Bryan, Samantha and Benjamin Ayala, and one great-grandchild, Genevell Ayala, all of Phoenix; and numerous nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; and four sisters, Avis Marie Robinson, Betty Stenberg, Janet Sime and Janice Johnson.

Funeral: Saturday, Oct. 6, at 11 a.m., in Hoff Lutheran Church, Heimdal.

Burial: Churchs Ferry Cemetery, at Churchs Ferry.

Visitation: Friday, from 2 to 6 p.m., at Nelson Funeral Home in Fessenden.
