Judy Christensen, 64, of Fort Worth, Texas, formerly of Turtle Lake, died Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, in Fort Worth after an eight-year battle with leukemia.
Judy was born Jan. 17, 1948, to Lee and Viola Victoria (Bauer) Reiser, in Bismarck. She grew up on a farm near Turtle Lake and graduated from Turtle Lake High School. After graduating from Minot College of Business, she worked in administration, including for the Boeing Company in Rapid City, S.D., where she met Gary and took on the new challenges as an Air Force spouse. She continued to work at various times throughout her life as an executive secretary, fashion model and sales consultant.
Judy devoted her time, talent and treasure to many volunteer organizations. She was a longtime member of St. Matthew's care team, consoling the sick, caring for AIDS patients and bringing communion to the shut-ins.
To those she loved, there was no one more loyal. She could light up a room like no other. She will be missed.
She is survived by: her husband, Gary; two sisters, Sharon Mertz (husband David), Betty Miller (husband Jerry); three brothers, Lee Reiser Jr., Jeff Reiser (wife Nikki), Jerry Reiser (wife Debbie); 16 nephews and nieces; and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews.
Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, Oct. 2, at 11 a.m. in St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Fort Worth, Texas.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, Oct. 6, at 2 p.m., at the Turtle Lake Cemetery.
