WHITE SHIELD Darlene Meyers, (Making Chief Woman Sta'a-sha-nu-guh) 89, White Shield, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, in her home. She was born March 24, 1923, to Charles and Nellie Yellow Bird, in Elbowoods. She married Samuel Meyers Sr. on Feb. 28, 1953.
Survivors: sons, Bennett Yellow Bird Sr., and Darren Meyers, Sr.; daughters, Jonelle Abe, Doreen Duncan, and Neva Meyers; stepdaughters, Nancy Fox and Kathy Dancing Bull-Buffalo Boy; 35 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce Krueger.
Funeral Saturday, 11 a.m., Ralph Wells Jr. Memorial Complex, White Shield. Burial: Congregational Cemetery, White Shield.
Wake service: Today, 5 p.m., at the complex.
