Margie Krahler, 77, Fessenden, passed away Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey, surrounded by her loving family.

Margie Neilsen, daughter of Art and Caroline (Lloyd) Neilsen, was born Nov. 19, 1934, in Carrington. She attended school in Fessenden, where she was a cheerleader. Margie graduated from Fessenden High School in 1952. Following high school she worked at First National Bank in Fessenden.

She married her high school sweetheart, Charles Krahler, on Nov. 10, 1953, at Fessenden. They lived on the Krahler family farm southeast of Fessenden. Margie and Charles were blessed with seven children, Karen, Curtis, Kelly, Timothy, Kim, Lanae and Dawn.

Margie was a devoted wife and mother. She worked from sun-up to sundown cooking, baking, gardening and sewing for her family. She loved her family and especially enjoyed time spent with them at holidays and family gatherings. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were very precious to Margie. Her cherry dessert was a holiday favorite.

Margie worked at the Fessenden Group Home for several years. After being diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, Margie remained at home and was cared for by her husband, Chuck, for several years. In 2010 she entered St. Aloisius Nursing Home, where she spent the last two years of her life surrounded by their loving and caring staff. They treated her like their own mother and grandmother.

Margie has joined her husband, Chuck, who passed away in March of this year, and her son, Kim, in Heaven, where she is probably their greatest cheerleader. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one brother, Lloyd; and two sisters, Mary Thon and Juanita (Mutt) Neumiller.
