LAKE ELMO, Minn. - Minot State University golfer Kowan O'Keefe won his second collegiate tournament on Monday.
The sophomore shot a 2-over-par 74 on Monday (143 for the tournament) and finished five strokes better than the rest of the field at the two-day Concordia University Invitational.
"Kowan's style isn't going to blow you away, but he just doesn't make many mistakes," MSU coach Chipper Farrell said in a press release. "And when he does make one, he is smart enough to not compound it. He really has it going for us so far this season. It's great to see."
The men shot a 307, recorded a two-day total of 610 and finished in third, 11 strokes off the University of Nebraska-Omaha's pace.
The women struggled again on day two. The Beavers shot a collective 354 and their two-day total of 703 left them in 14th place out of 16 teams.
"It wasn't a great day for us as a team," MSU women's golf coach Whitney Aberle said in a press release. "We struggled a bit more today and the score reflected it. We had some good scores and some that weren't as good."
Junior Mackenzie Nagel finished 23-over and tied for 29th.
