Jill Schramm/MDN • The tank shell of a one-million gallon, elevated reservoir under construction in southeast Minot was hoisted to the top of the tank pedestal by Landmark Structures Saturday in the Great Plains Energy Park. The process took about four hours. Work remains on the reservoir floor and roof. Once completed, the tank will provide supply to the eastern portion of the valley, basically from the State Fairgrounds east. The storage is particularly critical for fire protection. Completion of what will be the largest elevated tank in the city could occur this fall if weather conditions are favorable but most likely will happen next summer, said project engineer Dave O’Shea with Houston Engineering.
