Slow down for workers

September 16, 2012

Driving around North Dakota right now, there is a lot of road construction going on. That's what happens in states like ours where summer is otherwise known as "Road Construction Season." They say it can cost a million dollars a mile to repair roads, though, so based on our national economy, I would be willing to bet there are a lot of states whose roads sitting unrepaired.

Even though it can be irritating to slow down and narrow to one lane, when I think about it in the big picture, it's a privilege here in North Dakota to be able to afford the work. I hope drivers North Dakotans and visitors remember that as they crisscross the state until the snow starts flying.
