CARRINGTON Burton "Bud" Brakel, 97, Carrington, formerly of Heaton, died Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, in a Carrington nursing home.
He was born Jan. 8, 1915, to Harry and Elizabeth Brakel, in Hurdsfield. He married Alta Lukenbach Dec. 9, 1937, in Fessenden.
Survivors: son, Marvin, Fargo,; daughter, Jean Fossen, Fargo; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Catherine Bauer, Lodi, Calif.
Funeral: Saturday, 2 p.m., in Evans Funeral Home, Carrington.
Burial: Heaton Cemetery, Heaton.
Visitation: Today, 1 to 5 p.m., and Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the funeral home.
