In the spring of 1948, Mary and Joseph "Joe" A. Kraft had their first dance at the Easter Monday dance in Simcoe. Within a few months, Mary and Joe married on June 28, 1948, at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot. Together 15 children were born. They recently celebrated their 64th anniversary.
While extremely busy raising children and working on the family farm, Mary found time to be involved in the Granville Community Club, Granville Public School Music Boosters and PTO, Catholic Daughters of America, Royal Neighbors of America, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Granville, and the American Legion Auxiliary in Minot. Mary also spent time working with Joe as they handled custodial duties for Granville Public Schools.
Mary loved spending time in her yard with her flowers, bird feeders and garden. She was particular about her flowers, making sure they got just the right amount of light each day from the sun. Her other favorite pastime was playing bingo.
Upon the closing of Granville's Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Mary and Joe returned to St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot. In August 2011, Mary and Joe moved to Edgewood Vista Assisted Living Center in Minot.
