Lance Johnson, 62, Minot, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, in a Minot hospital.

Lance Allen Johnson was born June 13, 1950, a son of Leonard and Betty Ann (Nelson) Johnson, in Minot. Lance was raised and educated in Minot, graduating from Minot High School in 1968. While in high school, he was active in wrestling, where he was a state champion, and also played tennis. Lance moved to Louisiana after college and was employed in pollution control for numerous companies.

Lance was once married to Dianne Pritchett. They lived in Baton Rouge, La., for a time until they eventually built a home in Denham Springs, La. From this union two sons were born, Coley and Caden. Lance was so proud of his boys and told everyone he knew about them. He enjoyed sharing stories of all the fun they had. Lance loved spending time with his boys, particularly with sports participating and watching.

Lance returned to Minot in 1995 and was employed by Sykes for several years.

He is survived by: Sons, Coley (Melissa) Johnson, Caden (Jennifer) Johnson, all of Denham Springs, La.; grandchildren, Dylan, Baylen and Madilynn, all of Denham Springs, La.; parents, Leonard and Betty Ann Johnson, Minot; brothers, Levi (Peggy) Johnson, Minot, Lindsey "Inky" Johnson, Oklahoma City, Okla.; one niece, Cheyenne (Ryan) Jundt, West Fargo; uncles, Dennis (Margaret) Nelson, Alvin Johnson, Melvin (Bonnie) Johnson, Willard (Oveda) Johnson; former wife, Dianne Pritchett-Glascock, Denham Springs, La.

Lance was preceded in death by uncles and their spouses: Willis (Marilyn) Nelson, Wayne (Arlene) Nelson, Bloyd (Naomi) Johnson, Roland (Annabelle) Johnson, Arnold (Virginia) Johnson, and Donald (Jeanne) Johnson.

Funeral service: Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, 10:30 a.m., at Zion Lutheran Church, Minot.

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.

Visitation: Today, Sept. 4, from 1 to 6 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
