VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Dara Glenn (Rostad) Spragins, 54, Virginia Beach, formerly of Minot, died from lung cancer Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012, in her home.
She was born to Del and Eleanor Norberg Rostad in Minot. Dara graduated from Minot High School in 1975, attended Minot State University, and then served in the Navy from 1979 to 1992 as a cryptographer in various locations including the Azores, Scotland, Alaska, Hawaii and North Carolina. At the time of her death she was employed by the Navy Special Warfare Group in Virginia Beach.
Survivors include: her children, Derek Spragins and Jacqueline (Omar) McCadney-Benjamin, of Virginia Beach, Va.; mother, Eleanor Rostad, Pompano Beach, Fla.; siblings, Lorraine Nelson, Minot, Linda (Louis III) Shackelford, Pompano Beach, Fla., Douglas Hagen, Green Bay, Wis., Eric (Priscilla) Hagen, Vermillion, S.D.; granddaughter, JayLynn Spragins, Virginia Beach; and several nieces and nephews.
