MHS Envirothon Team goes to nationals

Minot High School Envirothon Team participated for the first time in the National Envirothon competition in Pennsylvania, held July 21-28. Team members Allison Rabe, Dana Halvorson, Clare Super, John Hoffer and Tiffany Dostert, and coaches Laurel Weigelt and Joe Super, and North Dakota Envirothon coordinator Diane Olsen went to Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pa., to participate in the 25th annual Cannon Envirothon. The team placed 34th out of 54 teams and won the "Extra Mile" Award. This was the first time a team from Minot has won the state competition. Each year the competition is held in a different region of the country. A university with in the chosen state hosts over 500 students and volunteers. Next year, Montana State University will be the host.
