The North Dakota Highway Patrol along with the McKenzie County Sheriff's Department investigated a fatal crash that happened during the early hours of Thursday morning.

Christopher Kendrick, 31, of Evans, Colo., was driving a 2008 Dodge pickup and traveling east on U.S. Highway 23. He drifted onto the south shoulder of the roadway when he over-corrected across the roadway and entered the north ditch. Kendrick's vehicle rolled multiple times and came to rest on its roof in the north ditch facing northwest. Kendrick was wearing a seatbelt.

NEW TOWN - The seventh annual and final benefit swim by Mark Fox, of Parshall, has been set for today beginning at 5:30 a.m. in the area of the Four Bears Bridge, west of New Town.

Fox planned the swim for mid-August but because of a serious injury it was rescheduled to earlier this week and then rescheduled to today.

The event will include boat rides given beginning at 9 a.m., a Diabetes Prevention Walk across the bridge and back at 10 a.m., and a barbecue at noon. All events are free. Money raised goes to youth activities on Fort Berthold Reservation.
