Raymond S. Giddings, 85, died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at the Castle Rock Convalescent Center in Green River, Wyo.
He was born May 27, 1927, on a farm near Roseglen, to Mable (Forde) and George Giddings. He grew up on the farm and later took over the farming. He married Anna Randall on Nov. 11, 1962, in Minot. They lived on the family farm. They had one daughter, Elaine, born March 9, 1966. He retired from farming in the mid-1980s. After retirement he kept busy with mowing, keeping up the church cemeteries, painting and continued participating in the Makoti Threshing Association. In 2004 he moved to Wyoming to be closer to his daughter and grandchildren.
He is survived by his only sister, Beatrice Charging, of Tahlequah, Okla.; his daughter, Elaine Miller and son-in-law, Cory, of Rock Springs, Wyo.; two grandchildren, Shane and Daniel Potter, of Rock Springs; six nieces and five nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
A memorial service will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Roseglen, at 2 p.m., on Thursday, Aug. 30.
Burial will take place at the Roseglen Cemetery.
