The North Dakota Highway Patrol and the Williams County Sheriff's Department investigated a fatal traffic accident that occurred Monday morning near Williston.
David Silver, 29, of Dickinson, and Gregory Evans, 53, of Tioga, were both traveling north on U.S. Highway 2, 13 miles north of Williston. Evans, driving a 2009 GMC Sierra pickup, struck the rear of Silver's 2004 Freightliner semi. Evans' vehicle came to rest in the east ditch facing east, while Silver's vehicle came to rest facing north on the shoulder. Evans, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was partially ejected from his vehicle. Evans died at the scene as a result of injuries suffered in the crash.
