John Halverson, 79, Flaxton, died Monday, Aug. 20, 2012, in his home.
He was born Oct. 16, 1932, to Lawrence and Ilo Halverson, in Flaxton. He entered active duty service in the Navy April 10, 1950. He served aboard the USS Rowan. He was discharged Aug. 10, 1953. He married Marian Carter Nov. 26, 1954.
Survivors: sons, Brad and Brett, both Flaxton; daughter, Brenda Kalmbach, Flaxton; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and brother, Bud, Minot.
