Janet Louise Wade, 74, from Kenmare, passed away in Bismarck, on Aug. 19, 2012.

Janet Louise DeLong was born May 28, 1938, the oldest of seven children born to Ralph and Mildred DeLong, in Alkabo. She graduated from Alkabo High School in 1956 and worked for the Wade family.

Janet was united in marriage to Mavor Wade on June 14, 1958, at Crosby. Mavor and Janet were married 54 years and farmed northwest of Kenmare. They had seven children and Janet cooked, baked, sewed, shopped, cleaned and kept the household running. Some of her hobbies included making animal birthday cakes, crocheting doilies, scrubbies and doll dresses, and playing cards. She was an avid reader and loved playing games and doing crafts with and for her grandchildren.

Janet Wade was preceded in death by her husband, Mavor Wade; her parents, Ralph and Mildred DeLong; her siblings, Susan Miiller (DeLong), and Roland DeLong, as well as her children, Kathy Lynne Wade and Douglas James Wade; and grandchild, Melissa Ann Buechler.

Janet is survived by: her siblings, Merle (Deanna) DeLong, of Puerto Rico, Keith (Mieko) DeLong, of Hastings, Minn., Patsy (Dennis) Slaaen, of Williston, and Steven DeLong, of Long Beach, Calif.; her children, Michael Wade, from Indianapolis, Ind., Barbara Grahek (John), from Rochester, Minn., Jeffrey Wade, from Williston, Nancy Wade, from Mandan, and Sandra Wade, from Bismarck; and grandchildren, Sami and John Tayeb, Travis and Jessica DesLauriers, Felicity and Stevie Kindt and Brittany and Michael Buechler.

Funeral service: Saturday, July 25, 2012, at 10 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, located north of Kenmare.

Burial: Will take place at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, rural Kenmare.

Visitation: Friday, Aug. 24, from 3 to 6 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home in Kenmare.
