NEW TOWN - Mark Fox's benefit swim across Lake Sakakawea near New Town now has been scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 29.
Fox's swim originally was planned for last week but then was delayed because of an unexpected and serious injury.
On Aug. 29, Fox, of Parshall, plans to begin swimming at 5:30 a.m. in the area of the Four Bears Bridge. He figures it will take him until about noon to finish the seven laps.
At 9 a.m., free boat rides will be given. The rides are available to everyone.
At 10 a.m., a Diabetes Prevention Walk is planned for across the bridge and back.
The activities will conclude with a barbecue at noon.
All events are free.
This will be Fox's seventh and final swim across Lake Sakakawea. Money raised goes to youth activities on Fort Berthold Reservation.
