Since retirement he enjoyed spending time traveling with Garnetta and spending as much time with family and friends as possible. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow up, watching Western movies and his favorite cooking shows. Tille loved to cook. He was known for his "good soup" by nearly everyone who knew him.
