JAMESTOWN - The Minot High School boys soccer team won and tied in a pair of games Saturday.
The Magicians played Grand Forks Red River to a 2-2 tie in the season opener. Senior forward P.K. Annan scored both goals for MHS, which jumped ahead 2-0 three minutes into the second 30-minute half.
Red River scored goals in the 35th and 55th minutes against junior goalkeeper Jake Saunders, who played the second half for the Magi after junior Garrett Weishaar didn't allow a first-half goal.
MHS defeated Grand Forks Central 3-0 in the second game and scored all three goals in the first 12 minutes. P.K. Annan added another goal. Junior Jacob Schmidt and sophomore Ekow Annan also scored.
"We were in an offensive attack mode the whole game," MHS coach Cody Saunders said.
Weishaar didn't allow a goal in two halves of action. Cody Saunders said he hasn't picked a permanent goalie.
