MANDAREE - Funeral Mass for Marvin Bell, 62, of Mandaree, will be today, Aug. 17, 2012, at 11 a.m., at the Water Chief Hall in Mandaree, with Father Paul Eberle presiding. The group gathered for the wake at Fulkerson Funeral Home in Watford City, Thursday, Aug. 16, at 3 p.m., with the wake Thursday at 5 p.m. in Water Chief Hall, Mandaree. Interment will be in the St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery in Mandaree. Remembrances and condolences may be shared with the family at (www.fulkersons.com).

Marvin died Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, in a truck-train accident at White Earth.

Marvin Bell (Shakes Himself Iih gii bah dah diish), was born to Murphy Bell and Inez Lone Fight-Bell-White Owl on Nov. 4, 1949, at Elbowoods. He belonged to the Knife Clan. He received his education at Wahpeton Boarding School and Mandaree School. He attended college at McCallister College in Mankato, Minn. He served in the Marine Corps in the early 1970s. Marvin worked in construction and cross-country truck driving. Most recently he drove trucks for C.M.G. Company until his death.

He was married to Monika Romo in 1992 in Wisconsin. He lived in Wisconsin Dells, Wis., New Town and Bismarck, and at Parshall at the time of his passing.

Marvin's hobbies were riding horses, swimming, playing cards and spending time with his family and friends.

Marvin is survived by: his wife, Monika Bell; his children, Doreen Bell, Bismarck, Jason White Owl, New Town, Murphy Bell, New Town, Marissa Hunts Along, Mandaree, Bobby Bell, of Madison, Wis., Niko Bell, Sarah Sprecher, Rochester, Minn.; sisters, Veronica Serdahl, Margie White Owl, Irene White Owl, Debbie (Pat) Steples, Kathy (Richard) White Tail, and Annie (Curtis) Starr; brothers, Eugene, Anthony, and Perry White Owl; and five grandchildren.

Marvin was preceded in death by: his father, Murphy Bell Sr.; and stepfather, Richard White Owl Sr.; his mother, Inez Lone Fight-Bell-White Owl; his maternal grandparents, Jack Lone Fight and Susan Fox Lone Fight; his paternal grandparents, Walter Bell and Nora Bird Bear Bell; his brothers, Murphy Bell and Richard White Owl Jr.; his nephew, George Young Bird; and his grandson, Preston Young Bird.
