Diane Bachmeier

Diane Bachmeier, 68, Minot, died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012, at Trinity Hospital in Minot with her daughters by her side.

Diane Marie Eide was born Feb. 21, 1944, the daughter of Malvin and Elsie (Wurgler) Eide, in Rugby. She was raised and educated in Rugby.

Diane married George J. Bachmeier on Oct. 19, 1963, in Rugby. This union was blessed with two precious daughters, Renee and Paula. They made their home in Minot where Diane worked for the Minot Public School system as an assistant cook. She retired in 2008 after 30 years with the public schools. George passed away Aug. 15, 2009.

She was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot, and the Minot American Legion Auxiliary.

She enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters, Alicea and Miranda. They were the light of her life. She also enjoyed gardening and embroidery work, as well as visiting with her many friends.

Those who shared in her life: two daughters, Renee (Duane) Hiller, Minot, and Paula (Mark) Duchscherer, Lansford; two granddaughters, Alicea Hiller and Miranda Hiller, both of Minot; mother, Elsie Eide, Minot; brother, Ron (Sally) Eide, of Arizona; sister, Jane (Curtis) Brorby, of York; sisters-in-law, Margaret Brossart, Marion Hauck and Theresa (Frank) Brossart, all of Rugby, Dorothy (Emanuel) Grad, of Harvey, and Rose (Stanley) Casavant, Rolette; brothers-in-law, Maurice (Bernice) Bachmeier, Mesa, Ariz, and August (Marscida) Bachmeier, Minot; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Diane was preceded in death by her husband, George; father, Malvin; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Katherine Bachmeier.

Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, Aug. 14, at 10 a.m. at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.

Visitation: Monday from 2 to 6 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
