Jerome D. "Jerry" Bishop, 72, passed away on Oct. 22, 2011, in Puyallup, Wash. Memorial services will be held on Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Bisbee Lutheran Church, Bisbee, N.D., with the Rev. Bonnie Weaver officiating. Visitation will be Friday for one hour prior to the service. Music will be from Lori Kurtti and Peggy Hendrickson. Interment will be at Bisbee Lutheran Cemetery in Bisbee.
Jerry was born Nov. 26, 1938, at Cando, N.D., to Jake and Theo (Hookland) Bishop. He graduated from Bisbee High School and then attended Bottineau College and UND. He majored in Civil Engineering and was on the boxing team while at Bottineau. He served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany and Korea. Following his discharge, he moved to the Seattle, Wash., area and worked as a machinist at the Boeing Plant in Auburn, Wash., until his retirement.
Jerry was an avid firearms enthusiast, reader and collector of motorcycles. He was very interested in art and any other collectables and was one of the founding members of the Washington Arms Collectors Association.

Every summer, Jerry could be expected to return to North Dakota, especially for the 4th of July festivities. He met with his relatives every other year at the Bishop Cousins' reunion.
Jerry is survived by: his sisters, Jacquie (Robert) Cook, of Casper, Wyo.; Belle Good, of Rolla, N.D.; brother, James (Eileen) Bishop, of Warroad, Minn.; nieces, Jane (Scott) Wallace, of Casper, Wyo.; Kristi Cook, of Billings, Mont.; Kelly (Wayne) Hall, of Sheridan, Wyo.; Sherri (Mitch) Maki, of Belt, Mont.; nephews, Mart (Linda) Cook, of Ogden, Utah; Tony (Cheryl) Good, of Rolla, N.D.; Charles Bishop, of Duluth, Minn.; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents and brother-in-law, Myron Good.
