Dale and Deloris Howe, Minot, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at an open house Saturday, Aug. 11, from 2 to 5 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 200-3rd St. SW, Minot. The family requests no gifts.
Dale Howe, originally from Velva, and Deloris Makeeff, originally from Mercer, met in Minot and later married in the Turtle Lake Baptist Church, Aug. 12, 1962.
Dale served two years active duty and four years reserve with the Army and later retired from Montana Dakota Utilities Co. in 1996, where he had worked for 31 years.
Deloris graduated from Minot State Teachers College and taught school in both the Mercer and the Minot areas for a total of 13 years. In 1986, after taking some time off to raise their three children and run a small business from home, Deloris started selling real estate. In 2001 she retired from real estate after 15 years.
Their two sons, Bradley Howe, of Rochester, Minn., and Brenden Howe, of Minot, along with daughter, Crystal Lowenberg, of Rio Rancho, N.M., will host the event. They have four grandchildren.
