Roseina ‘Rose’ Weninger

Roseina "Rose" Weninger, 84, of the Balfour and Drake area, died Sunday, July 29, 2012, at the Souris Valley Care Center in Velva.

Roseina Dorscher, daughter of John and Mary (Schneider) Dorscher, was born Dec. 9, 1927, at rural Anamoose. She was raised and educated in the rural Anamoose and Drake area.

On Oct. 14, 1947, she was married to Francis Weninger at Drake. They lived in Strasburg for a few years, where Francis worked as a mechanic. They later moved to the Balfour area where they began farming the Weninger family farm, and resided there until Francis passed away in February of 1981. Rose then moved to Drake and continued to reside there until July of 2011 when she became a resident of the Souris Valley Care Center in Velva.

She is survived by her children, Connie (Dean) McNamara of Fargo, Wayne (Peggy) Weninger of St. Mary, Ga., Linda (Tim) Budeau of Balfour and Gerald Weninger of Bismarck; six grandchildren, Mike (Rachel) Budeau, Heidi Budeau, Dawnyl (Quent) Martin, Travis McNamara and Jennifer and Ashley Weninger; three great-grandchildren, Kayla, Tyler and Sydney Budea; one sister, Adeline (Donnie) Ludwig of Drake; and two brothers, Edward Dorscher of Spokane, Wash., and Leo Dorscher of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

Rose was preceded in death by: her husband, Francis "Frank" Weninger; a great-grandson, Seth Budeau; her parents; three sisters, Sally Degenstein, Mary Elaine Wolf and Angeline Forsythe; and six brothers, Johnny, Mike, Sebastian, Andrew, Joseph and Conrad Dorscher.

The family prefers memorials to St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church of Drake and Souris Valley Care Center of Velva.

Funeral: Thursday, Aug. 2, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Drake.

Burial: Balfour Cemetery at Balfour.

Rosary recitation: Thursday at 10 a.m. at the church.

Visitation: Wednesday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Bethke-Nelson Funeral Home in Drake.
