FIRST BAPTIST XYZ TO MEET FOR ITS ANNUAL PICNIC ON THURSDAY First Baptist XYZ, a senior adult ministry for people in the 50-plus age group, will meet Thursday at 2 p.m. in First Baptist Church, 200-3rd St. SW, for their 24th annual southern fried chicken picnic. The event will be held indoors at the church.

A musical program will be presented by The Master's Plan, recording artists from Bismarck.

The cost for the picnic is $2. People also are asked to bring a salad or dessert.

MISSIONARY TO SPEAK IN CHURCHES TODAY, SUNDAY The Rev. David Erber, a missionary with the Lutheran ChurchMissouri Synod in West Africa, will be sharing his message and answering questions at several church services this weekend.

He will share his message during the 4 p.m. service today at St. Paul's at Lynch Lutheran Church north of Minot Air Force Base. He will also be available to answer questions about his ministry after the service.

Sunday he will deliver the message during the 8 and 10:30 a.m. services at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 200 E. Burdick Expressway. He will also lead the Bible study session between the services.

Erber and his wife, Joyce, have served in Africa since 1986. Prior to that they served in Nigeria. The couple has three adult children.
